*Monday, March 22, part two*
Another adventure! They were being literal when they named this RV park Flinstones “Bedrock”. We are actually sitting on a bed of rocks – it is dry and desolate. I am sure that in its “glory-days” 30 years ago this place was a ton of fun but, it is in desperate need of some TLC. (I am not sure if anyone was brave enough to enter the bathrooms...) Boy am I happy that we are 'self contained'! Thanks again, Scott and Tonya, for the trailer!! :)
Thankfully, the kids think that it is great. There is a huge Fred Flinstone sign that welcomes you at the gate and fun things to look at. The adults are all doing the “grin and bear it”. :) Carla and I originally paid for 2 days. The front desk guy is still trying to get the hang of the cash register and check-in process. He originally charged me $185 for 2 nights. Uh, I don’t think that’s right, maybe we should look at that again?! “Oh, that’s nothing,” he said, “I once charged somebody $21,000!” Cute.
Oh well, win some lose some. We quickly got a refund for our 2nd night and will stay someplace else near the East Entrance tomorrow night. We are looking forward to seeing the beauty of the Grand Canyon tomorrow morning!
